Can a faulty door lock stop my car from starting

I have a 95 318ti that wont start due to security reasons Ive reasearched and it seems like its from my ews. The only thing i can think of is when i got to a resturant i locked the door because my girlfriend left her purse in the car. After we came back out the car wouldnt start. I went through the car this past month and ive found that have no spark and my fuel pump isnt working i got my starter to work. The only thing i can think of is that my driver side door lock is messed up and it wont lock with the door button so i was wondering if there is sensor or reason that from a broken lock on my driver door that the EWS wouldnt allow my car to star. Is there anyone who can help me with this..THANKS SAMUEL

Immobilizer seems to be permanently activated...
I cannot see that one door lock would cause this unless it has "Anti-Hijack" !!
Maybe a simple wiring fault to the coil(s), Like you said- EWS module or even a fob issue...
Just my first thoughts.

Have you tried releasing ALL the deadlocks by using the key in the drivers door manually?
