This should be cheap enough for a Cold Air Intake,

MCS - Modification Tutorials: Cold Air Intake w/ Heat Shield

Catbacks are not cheap! This is the best price I could find on a Good quality Performance free flow:

My best advice for you is to go used .... Go to the Bimmerforums classified section and search .. You caa probalby find an exhaust for under 350 and a CAI if you dont' make one for under 100..

That new cat back is a very good price but I would still go used. At least for the exhaust because they never seem to rust these days.
