I dropped my wheel brace on to the positive an negitve on my battery sparks flew an the battery blew.. i put a new battery in an she started up again but now my fuel gauge temp gauge an break lights dont go ive checkd all the fuses but they all seem fine i have no idea wot 2 do or how to fix it or even were to start can any1 help? thank u
Check your relays as well.It may even be a fusable link in line to protect that specific group ofitems.(Look at Electrical Schmatic)The least if the problems may be fried bulbs and a combination of what I've already mentioned,By using a schmatic you can trace power from battery to components w/ a test light.I am not aware of any additional fuses related to your model year...hope this helps-Cruizer
In simple terms.. they say not to jump start the car with jumper leads...
This is coz of the fuses and computer!!!!!!!!
By dropping the metal device onto the battery you've created a huge spike. It WILL blow fuses and may damage the DME!
Oh i wish for the old days of dizzy's and timing and no computers.. it was much easier! I had a 1978 escort that did 210km/h and a 0-100 time in 7 secs.. coz i could modify it with no computers to play up!
In the case of the E30, there is a box with the fuses and relays in the left rear corner of the engine bay. It's a box with a translucent cover, hope this helps.
