Cams Issue

Here is the deal, I purchased a cam/manifold/software kit from KO.

Paid for new M3 cams, Refurbished Manifold and AA software.

Manifold is just fine, but it appears there was a mix-up between KO and there cams provider.

They sent me used cams, now KO is trying to find out what the deal is, but I basically MUST have the cams on by end of next week, Maybe in two weeks if am lucky.

However, if the cams were flawless I would slapp this on and maybe ask for a discount from KO, but here is what am worried about, the cams do look damaged, I have never this kind of damage on cams, so any feedback would be appreciated.

My main worries are:

1) Will the damage on the cams hurt the engine?
2) Will it affect my performance in any way?

NOTICE: In the 3rd and 4th picture, the top "gap" is actually the grinding of the cams, it's the "gap" underneath it that worries me

they could of been grounded for clearance but you never know

or maybe they were balanced? Call them and ask them I guess...

i don't know for sure, but they don't look too balanced by the way they were ground out.

Ok, here is an update:

The cams aren't New or Used, they are re-manufactured (spelling)

KO called there provider, and he said that those "spots" are where they actually "grab" the cams with there instruments (something along those lines)

the guy promises that if ANYTHING goes wrong when I install the cams or later down the road because of that, he will cover everything.

Those spots should not and will not affect performance or engine wear going by what the guy said.

Now about the fact that KO told me these would be new...

They are going to give me a great deal on my next purchase from them. I told him I was leaning towards Eisenmann Racing exhaust, and the direct replacement coils (similar to the Plasma boosters). He said he will look into those, but he tried to talk me into getting an AA Exhaust.... I'll make a new thread on the new exhaust choice...

But so far my choices are:

A ) Keep the current cams and meet my deadlines and get discounts from KO
B ) Ship the cams back and get other cams.

As of right now, I am not sure, but since both KO and there provider tell me that if anyhting goes wrong they will cover it, does make me feel ok about these cams...

So I am somewhat leaning towards choice A...

Ok, here is the deal, all cams , when you buy them from schrik are a regrind
of an original cam, now an M3 cam out of a car I understand it is "used and
you were under the impression you were getting brand new cams, and Denon did
not tell me what condition the cams were in except for that they are in
excellent condition.
Now I have sent those pictures to Denon and our rep at the BMW dealer, the
wear points you are showing are floating points where it not actually going
to touch any thing in the car, The cam will work just fine, the lobes have 0
damage and they do not change from being in a car before. I can get you
another set of cams in about another 8 business days but they will not be
any difference as far as performance or reliability, again a cam is a solid
piece of metal. So I can guaranty those cams if you want to put those it ,
or you can send them back and wait for another set. I do apologize for the
mix-up but I would like to help you and get your car running the way you
want it. Again I am willing to guaranty those cams in your car, meaning I
take the risk of improper installation as well. So let me know what you
would like to do.

I would say option A is the best, can't go wrong if they cover any problems and you get a discount on your next purchase. I don't know much about cam balancing, but as far as where those divots in the cams are, they won't affect the way the cams open the valves so you should be ok.

A. If the cam lobes are all smooth you should be ok.
