A/C question...please help!

sup everyone, quick question, i hope someone can help me out on this

when i turn on my a/c everything works fine, blows cold and hot air when i want it to, problem is, sometimes it blows really little air out....then all of a sudden ill hear like a pop or something, like something is opening, and more air comes out...if i turn the ac on just a little, not getting to the 1 setting it will "pop" sooner, but if i turn it on all the way to either 1 2 3 4 setting it just blows a little air and no "popping" noise...

really appreciate it if someone can help me out on this

its a 94 auto 318i

thanks in advanced

Bump

Eric Like Pizza: my car is actualyl doign the same thing
Eric Like Pizza: but usually the poppign occurs immediately
Eric Like Pizza: it almost sounds like a plastic gate inside is cracking open
Eric Like Pizza: i especially hear it if i change from stuff like window defroster to feet heaters to face heater
Eric Like Pizza: I'm really not sure. so far it hasnt bothered me enough to cause a problem. my only assumption that it's a gate wihtin the AC canal system that is crankign open or something and just since our cars are 11 - 12 years old it is getting old and the plastic has heated/cooled so much its expanded and probably become slightly deformed
Eric Like Pizza: Yeha I could see that as a potential problem. Ill bump your topic. Im sure it's a common problem and it doesnt seem liek somethign that would be expensive to fix. I really odnt have a clue how our a/c systems are setup and what channels are where.
