Sorry - it's a 328iC. Your last question is what I was wondering. I am unsure that BMW ever offered a car for sale without the A/C here in the U.S. Turns out we were both on the right track. The car has an A/C, just not working - the way they stated it to me left dobt. A broken fan belt and a $1300 estimate to fix leads me to now beleive that the Compressor locked-up and thus snapped the belt. I see that compressors run $250ish on e-bay to $450ish on auto part web sites. If it is just the compressor, the fix could be as low as $400ish to $700ish - doing the R&R myself and having the shop do the A/C freon charge. What do you think? Thanks
