check the aux fan first. if working then train your efforts on finding the leak :-)
when you do find the leak... then yes, for a 13yr old car, change receiver /drier(about USD25.-) and the orifice tube(if ur car uses 1 of those)/expansion block.
Bear in mind that in A/c systems... we do not see what happens inside the system. we only feel the effects. That being said.. it's better to replace waht you can before vacuuming and re-charge. lessens your headache of having to waste the freon 2-3 or 4 times around ;-)
