Buzzing Noise - Fuel Pump ?

Hi Guys

My 320i is making a buzzing noise, when you turn the ignition on it buzzes for about 4 seconds and then when you start up and the engine is running the buzzing is constant and rather loud, seems to becoming from the rear of the car near the rear wheel arch area?

Do you think the fuel pump is what is causing this buzzing noise and if so is it on borrowed time just waiting to fail?

Very well could be. The gas tank is under the rear seat. Pull up the seat bottom, it's just snapped on, and listen. There are two access panels. I think the one on the driver's side is where the fuel pump is located. Unless you have RHD, then maybe other side.

I would say yes.. i had the same noise occur. Changed the fuel pump and no more noise. The pump was god awful dirty so replacing it is good maintaince anyways, but I would think this will solve your problem.
