Many people have e36's with well over 150k miles and they run fine. Spiff's e30 had over 200k and it ran fine as well. BMW's are known for having long last motors.
looks like a nice car... maybe a few more pics would be helpful.. but from that small pic.. the car looks alright... and as deloriant said.. bimmers last forever!! they are mad like tanks!!
My car has +120K on the clock (engine has a bit less), and it runs better than the day it was new. Doesn't leak a thing, bone dry underneath, uses no oil, plugs are always clean, you get the picture.
Above mileage, I would put maintenance records at the top of the list. I would wrather have an e36 with 120K and all records, instead of one with 65K and none. A properly maintained e36 can go well over 200K before any major rebuilds are necessary.

Dude, don't forget you are not getting a honda, you are gettign a BMW! It's ok for a BMW to even have 200, or 300k's on the engine, Y??? Bcs if well taken care of that's nothing for them. so 120k miles for a 97 bimmer is little to nothing. (unless it was not taken care of)

it took me soooo long to find my car... about a year. i was passing up 328is w. 80 k on them because they didnt have records or becuase of the miles. after about a year of searching i finally found mine. i shouldnt have been so concerned, but im glad i waited. my 98 has 35k on it w/ full records. if u think something is fishy, check it out. there is always another one out there, it just takes time. as stated before, they last if they have been taken care of
