Building a COLD AIR INTAKE

hey guys....
i was wonder how hard it would be to build my own CAI instead of buying one for 300 then a chip for another 300. i have a 1997 BMW 318ti.
What parts would i need?
How long will it take?
Will it work?
Will it be hard?

nope not hard. You either need system...whatever PVC, the really good pvc. Or you need a buddy that can bend metal. You'll need an airfilter and that's about it. Not hard at all.... I think I just saw a post the other day where some one did this. I'll see if I can find it here after a while.

With his 318, and my 325, what real world dyno power can we expect?

I already have a K&N in the factory location, so other than the tone, what can I expect for Hp and Torque?

maybe 5 hp/lbs or torque. I don't put much stock into intakes with all stock internals. I may be wrong, but it's not gonna be a night and day difference.
