Brakes / Rotors

[Bell-1 318is]

I have a '96 318is, and have upgraded the wheels from stock 15' to 17'. My brakes are getting pretty warn-down, so I was wondering what type of pads I should replace my current stock pad with. I was also wondering if I should upgrade my rotors and if so what size and type?

axxis and pagid... unless u want to go crazy with ceramic brake pads... (not too sure about the ceramics).. stay the same size rotors.. if u want to go crazy, get some zimmerman or brembo rotors... then u'll have some sevear stopping power!

I'd get vented discs, which are probably what you have now. Superior cooling than a solid rotor, wont grind down the pads like slotted or crossdrilled rotors, you have them already unless the 318's came with really cruddy brakes, which I doubt and think they are the same as the 323, 235's, and 328's

Pads are more of a debateable item...

Stock pads are really good street pads if you don't mind the dust.

my hawk hps pads work very well, i think i have a stock rotor size, with slotted rotors.

i got my pads at bimmerworld

optimally, id have good pads, slightly bigger rotors (or stock) with slots (for heavy braking)

good pads, slightly bigger rotors (or stock) with no slots/holes (for city driving)
