Brakes Binding

Hey Guys,

I have recently noticed a decrease in pulling power on my car. So today I do about 10k in the morning...outside temp around 23c, and the 2 front rotors and 1 back rotor is pretty hot. So hot that when I sprinkled a few drops of water, it evaporate with a hiss and steam. (just a liitle bit of H2o, not enough to warp rotors)

Is this normal? Or is it too hot? I have noticed the lack of power is more on hot days, and after I've driven the car for some time.

Any opinions guys?

very normal, your rotors and pretty much everything on the wheel assembly will be hot, its friction. i mean even your wheel bolts are gonna be hot to the touch just from rotating friction. brakes will always get that hot are you noticing any shake while braking?

No, there's no shaking when braking. I knew there was some heat to be expected, but this hot?

Now I'm at scratch to find the reason for this "lack of power" when the car heats up. The first 2-3 km is fun, and after that it becomes really sluggish. Any thoughts? I've replaced the fuel filter and air filter both in the last month.

Well heat doesnt mix with gasoline as well as cold air, So u could always get a Cold air intake, that helps alot

too bad theirt like 200$ and no im not talking about the drop in filters either

Now that we are on the CAI angle, howmuch increase in HP is typically gained?

as for the end of the brakes issue, just remember sometimes brakes reach temps where they can almost glow.


as for the CAI, i would say its a noticeable gain but nothing that you go "wow"
