Brake System

Ok, I looked through previous posts on pads and rotors and did some research on my own and basically I've decided my next set will be Hawk HPS. But what rotor should I use with these? I don't want to go cross drilled or slotted because I've heard some bad things about warping and cracking. I also don't want the pads to eat right through the rotors. I was thinking of staying with stock rotors. Any suggestions? I have a 96 328 that will see zero track time. I just want better braking with low dust and low noise.

Just replaced the front breaks on my 94 325i with Hawk HSP’s and Zimmerman OEM rotors. Found what I believe to be the best price at Bimmerworld.com. James took my order on a Monday and I had the parts on Wed. Note: found removing the caliper bracket to be a real B1tch. It helps to know that the female threads are on the bracket not the control arm. Liberal use of PB blaster on the bolts will eventually work. (You can see where the top bolt comes through the bracket with a trouble light). An impact hammer sure helped. Only have about 200 miles on them but so far I’m satisfied with this set-up.

I've had a lot of luck with Zimmerman crossed drilled ones.. I know they are cross drilled and all.. but before I owned a set of Zimmerman's I warped three sets of OEM M rotors... Either its the drilled holes helping in the cooling.. or its the material used in these rotors.. either way.. I've had great luck with them.. and they will match with Hawk pads rather nicely.
