I think my brake lights stay on, as no light illuminates or dims as I hit the brake pedal! Anyone have a diagram of which light bulbs in your tail lights should be on while you're driving and which should be on while you're braking? That would help oh so much! Thanks...
PS Should the middle brake light in the rear window be on whenever the headlights are on or is it only supposed to illuminate while braking?

My vote is for the stop light switch. Either the switch is bad or the brake pedal arm does not push the piston on the stop light switch in far enough to turn off the brake lights. Go under the dash and shim the piston on the brake light switch (or push the piston all the way in while your bud is watching the brake lights) and then check and see if the lights are out, if yes, then you can adjust the brake pedal arm back to fully seat the piston on the stop light switch. If she still does not go out I would replace the stop light switch.
Alright, but how many bulbs should light up when not braking and how many should be lit when braking? I need to know the normal scheme so I know which is correct, because my tail lights may be wired incorrectly. I have aftermarket clear crystal cut lights.
