Brake Light Switch Recall

so basically your saying i can go in to my bmw dealership and tell them to replace the brake light switch on my e36 and its gonna be totally free?what if my car wasnt purchased at that bmw dealership?we only have 1 dealership in okc and my car was purchased in texas

I understand that any dealership is obliged to tend to recalls. They may have to check your car's prduction date, and maybe some other things, like not having been serviced before for that same recal.. I'm making stuff up the best I can here...

The recall was not for all models....I don't beleive

My 93 325i brake light circuit was a recall. For whatever reason I think my year was the only year with the recall. Pertaining to recalls though, you go to any bmw dealership and they run a vin and fix whatever recalls are on the year for free.
