hey
i was driving and this lady told the that both my brake lights dont work !!! so i went to pepboys told a guy in the lot to check if my lights come on or not.
i replaced the bulbs and i came home. i closed the garage door so i can see if it comes on or not. i pressed the brake and nothing.. then after braking more it came on.. it seemed it wasnt coming on every time i brake..
after driving around it was still working. when i came home its not working anymore.. none of them
the fuse is ok.
what can it be ?

ye but when my brake circuit switch shows up in the check control, my brake lights still work... so maybe you have a fault somewhere along the wires or a short...

i have/had this same problem. Mine are working now and havent gone out in awhile, but it is the switch on the pedal itself.

You need a brake light switch. Also, you need to check the tail light assembly and the metal contacts in the sockets for burn spots.

Yeah my stupid check control always pops up with "tail light" failure, but my taillights are fine. It's probably because I took out the fuses and put them back in and stupid BMW's have to be ritsy and need a BMW dealership to reset something. Just like when you get an oil change or brake pads replaced....*sighs*...stupid ritzy bastards.

i had the message apear on the ECU but the tail lights were fine. so i went to the dealer and bought the little part and installed it. now everythings fine and i dont get the message anymore. i dont think you have the same problem though, you could try that but idk if that will fix your problem. do you have aftermarket tail lights? if you do there might be a faulty connection somewhere.
