Brake Light Dosent Work! - BMW Forum

so i just put in my aftermarket taillights (red red white) and now one of the brake lights dosent work when i hit the brakes.

its not the bulb cause i did switch em around to check and they work on other positions. then when i pluged in the stock taillight back with the same bulbs the brake light did work. any idea what the problem might be? the car not responding to the aftermarket tails?

is the connection on the bulb even touching the taillight connection?! how about you return them and get another pair...

did u switch the socket???( the thing that holds the bulbs)...

i switched it with the right side working brake light...still nothing. damn aftermarket parts!

i was fooling with it a little today and sometimes the rear singal dosent work, and then it does work but flashes fast and then only the front turn signal works and flashes fast. the brake light didnt work for nothing except when i put in a different socket that didnt really fit there and jiggled it then the brake light worked when steped on.

hmmmm.........u must have got it from ebay..........i tried to rewire mine to and change the location of the pins.....but that didnt work

now i dont know where to plug the pins into the harness so im screwed

so my aftermarket tails are in the garage somewhere......

yes i did get them from ebay! is this a common problem? anyone else have trouble with these? i already contacted the seller, waiting for him to email me back

ok so i found out why it wasant working. the socket wasant touching the metal conductor thing at all!!!!! so i had to put this metal peice in between it so it would work. taped it down and now all lights work without that hyper blinking crap.

damn aftermarket parts. i'm still waiting for a reply from the sell though
