brake light circut - BMW Forum

my computer says that the brake light circut is malfunctioning, and it also said that i should look to the manual to check for the problem. all the manual said was to take it to a BMW dealership and have it checked out. I'm wondering what the problem might really be and is it a simple fix so that i could do it on my own or is it something that might really need someone who knows what they are doing.

There should be a FAQ on how to do this. Youve got to replace the little sending unit at the top of the brake pedal, not too bad.

Mine was just doing it a while ago until I noticed one of my parking lights was brighter than the other. I put the bulb back into place after it fallen out, haven't seen the message since. That could be your problem, but in most cases its the switch for the brake.
