Does anyone have any recommendations as to what kind of clamp i use to clamp my brake hose while I replace the caliper?

non unless you changed your brake fluid with in a couple of hundred miles it should be changed aswell.

bad man working is an unknown quantity at this point
The brake fluid should be changed every two years on an E36 Girling make good brake pipe clamps but any type will do but donít over-tighten them
