Has anyone ever painted or seen bottle caps wheels painted in black with polished lip?

I would mask off the lip and center cap, prep the wheel and shoot it with a nice glossy black.

Photoshop?

My friend did it, and now I'm doing it as we speak.

They are my winter wheels so I'm just playing around with them. It won't have a polished lip, just silver. In my opinion, bottle cap wheels painted black look like steel rims.

Will post pics.

Thanks for that quick repy. I just wanted to make sure that i wasn't the only person attempting this. I'm with you about them looking like steelies, but it's only for winter use anyhow.

Do you have pics of your friends ride?

Reminds me of the rims on the old 944, '80's style goodness

Anyways, get pics for you later tonight.

I have the bottle caps from the first pic, but they are usually refered to as "honey comb", the 2nd pic is actually bottle cap.

Nice photoshop, but the lip has to be silver.
