Bonnet stuck closed - please help!!!

I fitted my new bonnet yesterday.

i checked the latches all lined up correctly etc, and that the bonnet release cable was all working etc. then i closed the bonnet.

now it seems the bonnet is stuck closed and i can't open it at all!!!

i've pulled off my kidney grills and made sure the cable was pulling correctly, but even though it is, the bonnet is stuck fast.

i think i may have made the bonnet spike (the part of the catch attached to the bonnet) too long and now its gone too far into the connector on the slam panel.

I can see the mechanism through the grill and have tried twisting the spike (it won;t turn at all) and making sure the catch should let it open (which it should) but nothing helps at all.

can anyone help??

if not a crowbar to my bonnet will probably be needed!!!
