| Bodyshop Boobs & e36 windows (95 318is) Well, a freak accident happened where some construction equipment knocked off the passenger door mirror and damaged the door on my 95 318is. Bodyshop replaced door, moved window motor, returned to me and all worked well for a short while, then the window rolled down one day and wouldn't go back up. The body shop made the window close and ordered a new motor. They got in the new motor, I took them the car, and they gave it back with both windows inoperative and an explanation that they didn't know how to fix, take it to BMW. Dealer is in different city and it just hasn't been convenient to take it in and I've lived with it. Power roof works fine.
I've looke at some threads in the forum, and I'm suspecting the problem is the cutoff under the dash. I'd check the car but I left it at the office in LR and just thought I'd see if anyone had a checklist of procedures to go through to diagnose and remedy. Or can tell me where to look to find. I noticed that Bentley says take it to the dealer.
Anyway, to sum it up, no window operations whatsoever. Strongly suspect that body shop guy tripped something and didn't know where to find or how to remedy. I think it would be great to have windows that work. Any great ideas out there?
Thanks. |
