Recently I discovered from BMW that my E36 323i Coupe (1998) does not have Check Control even though the On Board Computer has ALL the buttons. It has a Check button that shows a collection of blocks. Apparantly its supposed to say "Check OK".
Is this really true that my car has no Check Control facility built in or is this the dealers way of ignoring the problem?
Hi! I have the same problem on my 93 318iS. I always get those blocks when I push the check control button. Some time ago a bulb of my taillight was out and the check control didn't say anything. I would like to know if I could do something about it. Thanx
as far as i know bmw has always installed some sort of OBC, even the e30 have a very basic system.
does anything else come up as blocks? (temp etc) if yes than there is a problem with the OBC but if not than maybe there right, maybe one of our techs knows.
yup same here.... everything else works fine. Its only the Check Control that gives the >###############+< kind of looking thing. (not hashes but blocks).
