BMWXenon bulbs, Any first hand info??

I discovered this web site a couple of days ago and the claims being made there are impressive. They claim some of the brightest yet safest replacement/upgrade Xenon bulbs for our BMWs. I'm tempted to add these to my Christmas-want-to-have list, but I wanted to see if anyone here has any first hand knowledge or other info they would like to share.

those look good and safe, but on a E36 you will probably need to upgrade to the ellipsoid headlights to make it work. a good set of ellips such as ZKW's could cost around $400

hmmm. well then i guess i mustve missed a key line at the bottom of the page: "our Xenon has the similarity as the HID Xenons and the lights reaches more ground and shines further then Piaa. " these are not actual HID's or "xenons", they are imposters, just bulbs with a blue tint. 5000k is bright, but it will not last near as long as a real HID conversion. the real bmw xenon (HID's) you see on the road burn at 7000k, i believe, which gives them a natural purple-ish hue, 5000k is just under pure white, so the blue-ish tint is un natural.


these bulbs are still extremely bright, so if thats what your looking for then i'm sure you'll appreciate the extra lighting, but they will not last near as long as HID

BMW bulbs are not blue. They are 5000K white. However, because of the natural properties of light, when it passes through the projector it acts as a prism thus making the light around the edges appear blue, as when you pass or the car bounces.

5000k, 7000k, etc is color temp in degree's on the kelvin scale. sunlight at noon, the brightest and whitest light possible, has a color temp of 5250 degrees. going beyond 5250 degrees gives you a altered hue, and if the temp ratings are higher, the light emitted will be further down the color spectrum. so thats why some hid's such as lexus rated at 6000k burn a blue-ish hue, and bmw's at 7000k have a purple-ish hue. however going beyond 5250 actually loses brightness as does going below it.
