The lights that indicate when inspections and services are due, could someone tell me if these are based on time or on the miles the car does just want to know how the lights judge when to countdown to service intervals? Thanks all.

They are judged by mileage. I am pretty sure that the green lights are at intervals of 3000, yellow might be 60000, and then red after you have driven 1000 with the yellow one on. I might be a little off o this.

It can't all be done by mileage... there must be other factors...
Just saying because I've been following my service lights and they go at different intervals every time; it seems to depend on season or driving style... or SOMETHING in addition to just plain mileage. I drive 80+ miles a day, so they cycle down relatively quickly... But you get used to cycles, and it's not the same every time.
it's explained in the manual. I believe in my owner's manual it states that it depends on the number of starts, mileage and other factors I'm probably forgetting.
My understanding is that it's a combination of number of cold starts and number of liters of gasoline consumed. That would account pretty easily for driving style and condition.
