BMWs are leading-edge when it comes to safety. They spend a lot of research resources improving on their safety features. Run searches on Google if you want specifics such as crash test statistics, etc.

very safe... well built all the way around.. part of the reason why they weight a little bit more then some cars... but still not much! just good building

Actually I have search the safety rating of my 318i, I found out its not that safe.

elebarate, places where you have found this information.... every accident i know of with someone in a bmw, the bmw came out a lot less hurt than everything else, and the driver good

I don't know about safety ratings, but I know from experience they do tend to crumble easily. Usually a vehicle that crumbles easily will have a higher success rate when it comes to saving lives.
