bmw revving issues - BMW Forum

I've just got my hands on a 1992 325i, had it now for a week and it was perfect, but since 2 days ago the car has been revving between 1000rpm and 1500rpm while idle and then after a few minutes will rise to over 2000rpm. I would much appreciate any help and opinions. cheers

hmm, when was the last tuneup if applicable you did? a few issues can cause an inconsistant idle. the most common issue is the idle control valve (check FAQ forum for information on this). there should also be some information on troublesome idles in the FAQ forum as well.

well not sure about last tune-up as have only just had it for a week now. just took i out 30 minutes ago for a good burnup and the problem has vanished and is idling perfectly.

that is wierd i have had the same problems with my idle especially whil my AC is on
