And you see that connection to the top left of where you disconnected the MAF sensor. It looks like this but I think yours is flipped because this is a different car. BMW REV PROBLEM when idle-imageuploadedbyag-free1353883167.813230.jpg but it should get the job done and refer to this video as well as my photos and even if it isn't ur IDV you won't have to worry about it later on but this should fix the rest of the problem.

thanks mate
i will give a go tomorrow, i took the appointment the lpg guy, because it started after he repaired my lpg system. so i will have a go at him first and i will tell him where to look.

he will do the diagnostic check soo do u reckon if i do the diagnostic check, will it show anything??

i also read about other test called vacuum leak test? would it be better if i tell him to do that as well..

I'm not entirely sure if it will but you can definitely try I first before you pull everything apart

I will try to follow Ur instructions tomorrow and try to open the IDV valve.

when i do this thing, is there anything i need to worry about or need to do it carefully? i understand your all pictures.

after open the four bolts of IDV, is it easy to take out or i need some force?

i have a brake cleaner and also MAF cleaner, shall i clean it with that?

i also read, to spray the brake cleaner around and if its speeds up and anything that change, that's mean i got a vacuum leak?

When taking out the IDV it takes a little bit of force not much thoughts yes spraying a type of liquid around the hose and listening for a hissing sound means you have a vacuum leak and you can duct tape the connection port of the IDV well and spray it down with the break cleaner so you don't have to worry about damaging it with the fluid if you decide to take a look at the IDV. I hope all goes well with your problem tomorrow.

I will try to fix it tomorrow and i will write up all the updates then.
i was thinking, after cleaning the ICV, if it is not fixed then what else it could be?

I was reading other threads, peoples talking about manifold gasket intake. what is that and what is the symptoms if something wrong with it?

i also have a engine management light on as well, it came on when i was driving so it happened because to rev problem.

I don't really know about the manifold gasket causing this problem and the
Engine management light Is from your erratic idle. Just check for a vacuum leak with water over the hose and check your idle valve control for built up carbon deposits on the gate. Once those have been checked you can narrow It down to the part that needs to be fixed but the manifold gasket sounds more expensive to jump into right away without checking the simpler solutions first.

I'm sorry but I don't have any if you take a look at that video it will show you the general idea for your bmw and what to take out and what the IDV looks like yours is upright and his is sideways that's really the only difference but the rest is all in the same place connected to the same parts.

Bingo there's your problem vacuum leak try sealing that up with some epoxy and tape until you are able to replace the hose see how she rides now

hey mate,
i fixed the hole with a super glue and i drive it like 20 miles in town so it seems to be working perfectly now. reves right on 700 and stay there but sometime it moves to 700-730 but can't really feel anything. so i guess that problem is solved. but i will drive in the morning again and see how it goes then.
thanks for your help all the way, i wouldn't be able to do it myself lol garage would have cost me over 50quid for that.

i will try to look for the hose in breakers because it had two holes in it and glue won't really last forever.

still can't believe that only a tiny hole could cause that problem.

Lol yeah tiniest hole will get you haha but my 318i was doing that 700-730 jump just now and I took a look under the hood and found my rubber hose to be tearing apart at the gromet where it locks into the MAF hose and I taped it up for now but will soon have to replace that car idles on point again. I'm not sure how much 50quid is in usd but hey if I saved you some money I'm glad I was able to help that's all.
