I have installed a factory plug-in BMW E36 alarm/keyless unit. I forgot to drill a hole in the console for the LED, so I left it taped under the trip computer. While at the dealer for some parts purchase, I ask them to look for euro-alarm LED (the one that plugs right in to the panel next to cigarette lighter and looks cool). They find it, but on order. So I order it and wait a week. When it comes - it has a weird 4-pin connector in the back.
The factory one has a pair of wires from the harness that end with a boat-shaped 2-pin connector. Has anyone installed euro-LED? What are the 4 pins on it for? I could solder the wires to it - but I need the pin explanation. The dealer didn't seem to have any connector that goes into this new LED.
