My friend just showed me this product: X3 Performance Chip with O2 Sensor Control [X3] : Performance Chip - Car Performance Chips ECU Tuning Flash

What does everyone think about? worth the money? even for a 318is?

TBH, I would avoid this my friend... A simple diode bypass at the MAF will do the same at around $8 !!
All this does is "Fool" the ECU into thinking the engine is still quite cool, then fuels it accordingly...
This will not benefit your 318i

interesting, thanks for the heads-up. It seems that a little more hp out of the m44 is too much to ask for

their website is very misleading then... and i guess most "performance" companies' are. Any suggestions for anything that could help the little 318?

Forced air induction (Cone filter) would release a few horses as the standard airbox and panel filters restrict the air.
Aftermarket exhaust would help a little too !!

Just trying to keep your budget down ;-)

yea i don't to go all in with this car. However in the next few months i may end up just buying a 325/328 so i will have many more performance options.

Great idea ! The straight-6 will give you much more fun and options... Fantastic engines
Avoid the under-powered 323... Same engines but the M50/M52 inline-6 come in different guises, 328 FTW (for the win!)...
