bmw e36 316 i se

hi there im new to this site,can some one tell me if it is difficult to change a rear wheel bearing,does the drive shaft have to be removed,my car is a e36 316 i 1998,would be gratefull for any advice,regards mark

Changing the rear bearings are a PITA, the entire brake has to be removed, including the parking brake. The half shaft, exhaust and sway bar. Special tools need to be bought or made, I paid $300 to have mine done and it was well worth it. Fronts are relatively easy with some rented pullers.
