BMW CD Changer

Just received my BMW OEM CD changer which I bought on ebay. Here's my (probably silly question). My car is currently in the shop and the unit is not yet installed. But I seem to be unable to remove the 6 CD-cartridge from changer. Nothing happens when I press the "push" button on the cartridge or when I push the "little green" button right below the cartridge. Now I am thinking it only works when the unit is plugged in and receives electricity. Is this correct or do I have a malfunctioning unit?? Ray

it uses an electric motor to eject the cd cartridge. So, until you get it hooked up to the car, it won't work.

If you need to remove it now for some reason, take a credit card and "pop" it underneath, like you swipe a card at a gas pump. That will manually eject it.
