Bmw 328I convertible

I've just recently bought a BMW 328i Convertible, and its got the airbag light permanently on the dash...... and its worrying me as to what it could be and how to turn it off.

any suggestions as to what it could be?

Don't worry too much about it. It's a common defect in the seatbelt socket (it has a switch in there that's flaky in E36s) that causes your airbag light to stay on. I had my switch repaired and the light reset at the dealership for about $18...free if you're still under warranty. Have it checked and diagnosed by the dealership or an autoshop that specializes in BMWs. They have a Peake Research tool that diagnoses all the warning lights on your dash. It may be a good investment to buy the tool yourself. Good luck!
