bmw 316i e36 potential project

hi, i am in process of buying a bmw 318i 1993, its been stood for 2 to 3 yrs, problem is it wont start, starter sometimes jams, when it does turn over it wont fire up, should i buy the car, cheaply of course!, then change coil pack and leads, plugs stater motor, fuel pump relay or am i going to far to soon?, any advice would be most welcome, many many thanks guys,

There can be many other things wrong with the car. It's a chance you will be taking if you purchase it.
I recommend you ask the seller if he/she has any service records. that way you can tell what parts have been replaced already.
But then again, if you said its "project car" and you get it for dirt cheap, it can be a nice project for you

thanx for that, im getting it for 300 pound, car is great condition just wont start, its had alot spent on her so its worth me spending to get it perfect, thanx again

Hi,

if your willing to spend for it go, first to check if fuel is coming in, mine had some fuel coming in, but it backfires, when we replace the fuel pump, which was just 3 weeks old,
it went fine until now hahaha, the pump was not oem.
