I hit 120 in my 92 318's, the next thing i kno there's a rattling sound, i figured it was an exhaust problem, i stop, restart and continue on my journey, after 20 seconds, my shit was in smoke. The ppl. @ the dealership told me i needed a nu motor, i would if i had the $$$$,
WHAT CAN I DO,
1. Junk it
2. Junk it
3. ?????
Check bimmerforums.com, there are 318 motors going around for $300-$500. BTW, if you blew your motor, it wasn't because you hit 120 and the motor couldn't take it, it was because something was already about to break anyways. I always rev the sh*t out of my motor and it still keeps running strong.

I blew my 92 318i engine last year 135K; timing chain jumped. I ordered a rebuild from California. They shipped free & picked up the old core for free. You also get a brand new water pump, filters (fuel & oil) etc..good warranty. Check the web site out http://www.bavengine.com/. Great customer service also.
