Thumbs down

I searched for a couple of hours to find a DIY with pictures, but couldn't find one showing where the part is located.

I've got the glove box and knee bolster removed, but can't see the part anywheres.

Can someone explain to me where to find it?

PS Haynes Manuals suck, there directions weren't even close to being accurate.

I thought you accessed it from the driver's side. What year is your car? I just replaced mine the other day. (94-3 series)You need to remove the driver's side kick panel, look towards the edge of the center console, and look for the 3 pins about 8 inches from the floor, recessed in the center console end. You will NOT see the length of the resistor. if you have already purchased the new one, turn it away from you and look at the pins, that's all what you are looking for. I'll get a digital pic if you still have trouble.

Good luck

I'm talking about the blower motor resistor, not the final stage unit. The final stage unit is located on the driverside, and is very easy to replace.

I have a 97 328is

I know there are people in here that have changed theres. I just can't seem to see it. It looks like there are a few control moduals that may need to be moved. My haynes manual doesn't say anything about moving them though. It also doesn't actually tell you were the part is located.

it sounds like no one in this forum has changed thier blower motor resistor before. I thought a bunch of people had done it.
