black dust in exaust

i was checking my exaust tailpipe i i saw this dark sooth type dust at the end
could it be the oxygen sensor. i am not getting a rough idle at all except the car feel a bit sluggish

its pretty common to have soot on the exhaust , but excessive amout could be because signs of wear on teh cats which usually burn up the small amounts of oil and carbon created during hard driving. it could also be because of a few other things as well, a leak in a valve seal, O2 not working properly (which would usually give you a engine light if it was that faulty)
you got any pictures of the tailpipes? because like i said its very common to have some.

Mine has it all the time. Mostly a by-product of unleaded gas. Running rich will produce black smoke and soot, but you should notice a problem with running and idle if it's that bad.
