a bit of advice needed

hi i have a 318i SE and lately when i go over speed ramps/bumps the car bounces back down and whacks the side skirts. i am just wondering whether its my shocks or springs that are going can someone advise me on the situation. as far as im aware the car has not been lowered. used

Sounds like the shocks. Take a flash light a see if the shocks are leaking, push the cars corners down and then release and see how much they bounce. There's a DIY in the FAQ section written and illustrated by me, should you decide you would like to save a a couple hundred dollars on the labor should you need to replace the shocks.

same sh*t happens to me except mine is lowered and it really thumps down hard over a speed bump.
