I live in Australia where second hand bmws seem to hold there value alot better
I own a 318i with full m3 kit, and the full works "only interior needs fixing"
Just had a new engine put in with 40,000k's or 25,000 miles. A bmw of this range is some how worth $16,000 - $19,000 "AU$ or $12,000 - $14,500

I was thinking should i just sell my car in Australia and import a uk car. For this sort of money wat car could i be looking at, "has to be UK or other right hand drive". Does anyone know wat a car usually costs in shipping to be sent over seas??

I don't know why you want to just import another car...Sounds like yours is a good time...

Anyway, to import a car isn't cheap. Of course it all depends on what kind of a shipping company you use. I know from research and experiences in wanting to import a car from Japan, it could cost upwards of 5 or 6 grand in American (for a Nissan Skyline ) It may be different because that seems to be a lot longer of a distance than Japan-California, but its something that you would probably have to make some calls for or do some internet searching aside from this forum...

hmmm in answer to your qustion 'as above" why sell your car to import another?

anyhow, if you want to import a car why not do it from japan, I mean we have no tarrifs on our imports from japan so theres pretty much any car you want for damn cheap, eg a 98-99 328is E36 of course from japan with about 50-60km on it I can buy on the street or private for about $16-21 depending on condtion, I got my 97 328is from hong kong where it was a german import then he moved to NZ and brought his car here, one owner 50km for $20 it is in mint condtion and has everything! all type "R" civics or integras or sti evos you can buy for $5-15 like a really really good one, there are so many jappas here now you should just import one from here to ozy? would be heaps easyer and cheaper? I found this really nice sti version 5 "RA" model just landed here with no NZ owners yet, 35km for $13 I thinking I might buy a little toy to play wit.
