behind the obc

Does anyone know what the plastic wall behind the obc and sunglass holder is? is it vital to the car? i want to put part of a in dash dvd player in there but with that plastic wall it is not deep enough. i dont want to remove or cut through it if it is part of the heater duct or some shit like thatused: used: used: used: i can get a good ass deal on this player and the portion that holds the cds needs to go down there and the screen portion goes where my current headunit sits. thanks in advance as always

not too sure myself, when putting in my gauges i noticed it , however i had plenty of room

u think its part of the heating duct mark? i mean ive seen numerous ppl put lcd's in there but i guess they somehow bypassed it right?

i drilled a hole in mine in addition to the hole that is on the top "roof" of it and it did not cause any problems...
i ran a wire for my ipod through the back of it..
