hey well iev been looking into a chip for a little bit down the road... and i was wondering which do you prefer dinan or bavauto for a chip... out of those options.. both raise hp and torque about the same and rasie rev limit... but what i noticed about the dinan is it took away the governor, does the bavauto one do this or not?

The bavauto chip does take away the governor. Click on the extra info link on their website. But I agree, TMS is the way to go.

yeah the only thing i would really buy from dinan is a chip.[. their stuff is great but you can get the same quality for less money from other places... dinan is good if you are still under warranty though
If Dinan parts keep you under warrant I doubt that the chip is going to be as effective as a chip from TMS or BavAuto i.e. would probably not highten the rev limiter, and not sure about the top speed.

This is a quite directly from the Dinan website:
Dinan Performance Engine Software unleashes more power by re-programming the fuel mixture and ignition timing parameters of the engine management system. Furthermore, the software safely raises the rev-limit, giving your BMW a broader power band and greater road speed potential in each gear. Significant gains are also achieved at part throttle, making extra power available where you spend the bulk of the time driving. The top speed governor has also been eliminated, enabling the vehicle to achieve it's "natural" top speed.
