Do these things work ?

http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp

How much hp/tq could i expect to gain from this? Is this a one time shot or can i buy a used one and reprogram it? Seems to be pretty easy to do. Has anyone had experience with these or know anyone who has used one? $400 seems like a lot but if i could gain 10-15 hp/tq it would be worth it. What are the pro's and cons of this product. All help is wanted and appreciated. Thanks.

-John
