Battery and sensor light??

It was raining in Charlotte yesterday, and while driving through flooded areas of the road, my battery light flickered on twice. Where's my battery so I can check the charging level, in the trunk? I just has my alternator replaced about 4 months ago, for $511 , and I would like to avoid any unnecessary costs, if I can test and fix something myself. Can any of you fellow bimmer lovers help me out on this, Joe

ya for mine its on the right side of the trunk, below the plastic rack kinda thing. If its not there, check your manual. There are also terminals under the hood to jumpstart if required.

The 318 has it under the hood (passenger side under the windshield).
