Bad catalytic converter. It took your O2 sensor with it. Replace them both and you'll likely have your power back. I'd recomend not going OE on the cat because it's super expensive. Just find a nice after market part.

As much as anyone on this forum can tell you what they think is wrong... the best bet when your dealing with something that pretty much puts the car to no good use.... Get it checked out by a BMW shop... to tell you whats wrong... I wouldnt exactly let them work on the car if it is something I could do my self... its a lot cheaper that way... but I'd say get it looked at.. It could be a number or problems.. from your Clutch... to your computer... GOOD LUCK

I say is your cat I had the same thing bad O2 make the unburned gas go in the cat then it eats it away slowly so make sure you check your O2 every time you tune up that goes for all of you.
The inside is busted and a chunk of it turned to the side blocking the air flow
so after I bought a after market one, it only lasted 2 months tops if that.
Go with OE find one from the junk yard buy a new O2, when you buy one from the junk knock on it and shake the shit out of it make sure the inside is not lose nothing falls out of it (crums etc)

You could empty out the stuff inside the cat too..... But it's a little illegal, but if you don't have emissions testing....
