The catalytic converter on my 95 325i is shot. I dont have the cash to get it fixed right now, and was wondering what its doing to my car performance wise. Pretty sure it would affect mpg, but not sure about performance. Could a slight stall in first (man. trans) every now and then be caused by the bad cat?

I don't think your cats could be causing your car to stall, at least I never heard of it...

if it was clogged maybe... should just be causing all kinds of black soot looking stuff to build up within your exhaust and be discoloring your muffler.

it can make you stall, a clogged cat can do some nasty stalling, my friends modified 325 did that, his cats clogged up and on a Bimmer cruise his car stalled out all the time, so he had to turn around and go home.
