Question Auxilary Fan 328i

What is the function of this fan. I there an issue if you drive with out this for a few days?

Mostly the aux fan is for hotter conditions and when the A/C is on.

^^ What he said. In fact, I have made it through entire summers without one on my '96 328i. I just had to make sure to turn off the AC and rll down the windows at red lights.

It is on whenever the A/C is on and if the engine starts to overheat. I also drove all summer without one ... in Oregon, you'll be fine even on the hottest day.

Thanks this is what I thought. Yea this time of year it only get up to an average of 50F anyway.

I broke mine in an accident over the summer and a junk yard knows these things go all the time. They'll want to charge you $120 plus fir the bad boy and it's not even necessary. Save some weight and chuck it.
