Automatic Transmission Help

Hi,

I've got a '93 E36 318i. Drives beautifully (though somewhat slowly.. ) and is in good nick bar the damage a button on the back of my jeans did to the drivers seat ghead.

Anyway, I've noticed recently that when the tranny shifts (particularly between 1st and 2nd, at lower speeds) the car lurches as it seems to take a second to engage. I've also noticed the area around the shift lever.. well, basically most of the centre console is quite hot.

I'm guessing (well, hoping) it's a problem with the tranny fluid - any advice?

first thing is to obviously change your ATF and check it for any metal. second thing is to take it somewhere and have it checked out

Yeah I think my trans is a lil messed up also. Same symptoms.
