i have a 1997 328is , the asc+t light is on in the middle of the gage cluster. only the asc light is on no abs light. what would be causing this to happen and would an obd2 reader pick up on something like this or does it need other diagnostic tests? the light is always on after startup , i cant turn off the asc at all, witch acording to the manual means its messed up.
thanks
ryan
Yes a code reader will pick the error, it may just be a failed wheel speed sensor...In my car the ASC light is the same as the ABS light..tiangle with ! in yellow/orange is this the one?

yep, its the triangle w/ the ! in the center, i went thru my owners manual on my car there is a light for both abs and asc+t. you said a code reader will pick up on this, meaning and obd2 reader?
im having the same problem with the ASC the light turns on and it wont turn off, dam i just think my car is throwing a fit since i leave her outside with this coldass weather
check your Cruise control module, it can throw off the asc+t and you will get the (tinagle with the ("!") in the middle. the wire must have come loose or something, check it and let me know... ( this is how i ficed my asc light , now it is off, definity feel the diferance
Your ASC module shorted out, this happened to me when I installed a tower brace, I really don't care for the traction control its no fun when activated anyway, but it is the balck module on top of the throttle body, easy fix
