asc light comes on after driving for a while can it be fixed or its a bmw dealer project

If it is flashing when you are on the throttle that means it is working (braking at least two wheels and/or cutting engine power). If it stays on that is a fault in the system and a shop (not necessarily a dealer) needs to check it out.

asc is traction control... are u spinning the tires at all???

if check fuses/relays.... replace if needed!

I had my ASC and ABS light going on and staying after driving. I thought about replacing the sensors but I thought about studying it first. The sensors are just magnets that picks up the gaps on a gear on each wheel. If this sensor does not sense the gap it screws things up for some reason. If you know exactly where the rear wheel sensors are, try to remove the bolt holding it and blow brake clean thru it while spinning the wheel. This will blow the crap out of the gaps on the gears I was talking about. If you can also see the tip of the sensor, shoot some brake clean on it too. I did this on a last ditch effort and my dash has been warning light free(other than the low fuel light;-) for the past week. Give this a try. 5 bucks for 2 cans of brake clean is cheaper than $100.00 for a sensor. Good luck

check using the DIS at your dealership

it should state where and why the problem is occuring. thats an easy fix problem once detected

Its $110.00 just to plug that crap in from the stealership here in the US

I know that if that valve moves any one bit while you are driving (popping the clutch with the system off) than it turns the system off until you turn off the car and turn it back on. this has only happened to me twice and i pop the clutch every so often to race, i mean get ahead of someone.

i wonder though, if i did wiggle the asc valve while the motor is running, if it would disable the speed limiter??? i think it uses the same valve to limit the top speed because the ignition is not cut when you get to 120. instead the car will just hover there indefinitely w/o gaining or losing speed. any incite?

When I first bought my car it was on, but then i pressed the asc button and the light was off, not really sure if something is wrong with it. It doesn't flash at all though

it will flash if your slide laterally or spin the tires
