Anyone else have problems with brake lights?

I have never had so much trouble with brake lights since I bought my 318I. Every month it seems, either the driver or passenger side light goes out. The socket seems to get loose and just wiggling it causes it to work again. Is it me or is this the worst design yet? I have made sure the socket is in properly and snug. I have even cleaned the contacts to make sure it doesn't happen again. It still continues to occur. I once replaced one of the sockets because it quit working altogether. Anyone else having this nagging issue? Is there a nice trick to get them to fit better?

I was having this same problem, so I just took some electrical tape and put a little piece on either side of the bulb on the plastic. This should keep it in there snuggly, as well as, allow the connections to touch. Hope this helps.

this is what happened yesterday evening:
one of my front fog lites was not working, I bought the bulb and replaced the wires for another.

On the rear or tail lites there are two lights that work if your fog lihts are on.

Only one of this is working, the left one.
Then we, my dad and I, attempt to fix this, but we messed up.
Now i dont have reverse signal, and if I turn on the signat --> two lites are blinking on the left side, the midle one and the signal lite itself, this is a mess.

We tried to undo all but is worst.

The signal --> in the dash panel now blinks delayed.

Help!!

Go to your local BMW dealership, and you can get a new bulb socket. Sometimes with the turn signal problem, you have to make sure the bulb socket is in correctly.

Have you checked to make sure the lights are secured in place? There are 4 nuts on the back of it; make sure they are tight.

niether of my breaklights work... ..i just rely on my spoiler break light and rear window break light....everytime i tighten it it just gets slack again....i guess i should put some electrical tape or something.....as far as i can see....almost all e36's have problems with the break lights....especially the drivers side....i'd say 40% of the time that i see an e36 on the road the break light is out
